Publications

Since 1987, MCEER (formerly the Multidisciplinary and the National Center for Earthquake Engineering Research) has produced over 350 publications that describe the latest research and developments in earthquake loss reduction. These publications include a newsletter, technical reports, workshop and conference proceedings, and special publications. They are intended to be of interest to a wide range of readers, including academic researchers, consultants and practitioners in government and the private sector.

The MCEER Bulletin is a newsletter that features articles on the Center's research, education and outreach activities. Many of the articles include hyperlinks to additional information available on the web. It is available in either hard copy or electronic format.

Technical reports present detailed accounts of current research work. Reports are written by MCEER-funded researchers, reviewed by external peer reviewers, and are generally available shortly after submittal. A wide variety of subjects related to hazard mitigation are addressed. Yearly subscriptions are available.

Workshop and Conference Proceedings serve as a permanent record of many MCEER-sponsored events. In addition to the papers presented, proceedings often include resolutions, recommendations and issues identified for further study.

Special Publications synthesize MCEER's technical achievements for a wider range of readers than the technical reports. Special publications include codes, guidelines and standards, reconnaissance reports, monographs, research summaries and special series on a related disaster, hazard or topic.

In addition, the MCEER Information Service offers a dynamic web site to help keep readers current on professional activities, projects, and publications of interest to the earthquake loss reduction community. The website features brief reviews of new publications on earthquake engineering and related topics, educational and fellowship opportunities, professional meetings and calls for papers, as well as information of general interest to the community.
