SLC Members Participate in MCEER Annual Meeting

MCEER’s Student Leadership Council from six different universities participated in the 2006 MCEER Annual Meeting June 29-30, held in Arlington, Virginia, attending the program and presenting their own research in the student poster session.
On the second day, the SLC met to discuss the Annual SLC Retreat, the Tri-Center Field Mission to New Zealand, the 2005-2006 Student Research Accomplishments Volume (SRA), the 2007 Undergraduate Seismic Design Competition (USDC) and other business. The SLC Retreat was tentatively scheduled to be held either at Cornell University or New Jersey Institute of Technology in the Spring of 2007. Seda Dogruel and Rodrigo Retamales, both from the University at Buffalo, volunteered to edit the SRA. Also, students from each of the MCEER institutions represented at the meeting agreed to assist in forming and advising undergraduate students from their university to participate in the Undergraduate Seismic Design Competition, which will be held in Los Angeles, CA in conjunction with the 2007 EERI Annual Meeting.
